TESDA and Pilmico Strengthen Skills Development for Filipino Bakers

Today marks a milestone as TESDA signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. and Pilmico, along with a Memorandum of Understanding between the TESDA Women's Center and partners including Basic Environmental Systems & Technologies, Inc., Ecowaste Coalition, CREST - Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology, and Philippine Green Building Council.
The partnership with Aboitiz Foundation Inc. focuses on Virtual Assistant Training aimed at empowering women by equipping them with essential skills for economic independence and reducing unemployment. The collaboration with Pilmico is titled "TESDA - PILMICO Partnership on Upskilling of Bread and Pastry Production," which aims to enhance training programs and develop trainers. Additionally, the MOU with Green TVET champions seeks to advance sustainability education and practices through collective efforts in curriculum design and research.
In attendance were key figures from TESDA, including the Director General, Secretary Jose Francisco "Kiko" Benitez; DDG Felizardo R. Colambo; DDG Nelly Nita N. Dillera; and Mylene H. Somera, alongside notable representatives from partner organizations: Ana Margarita Hontiveros-Malvar, President of Aboitiz Foundation Inc.; William Paradies, Vice President of Pilmico Food Corporation; Jan Vincent Mercado and Engr. Ceidge Razon from Basic Environmental Systems and Technologies; Eileen Sison and Aileen Lucero from Ecowaste Coalition; Melissa Cardenas and Engr. Elline Ebio from the Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology; Christopher Dela Cruz and Ma. Anna Tungol from the Philippine Green Building Council; and Sharlene Powell, Managing Director of HMR Envirocycle Phils. Inc.
