TWC Strengthens Global Ties in Drive for Women's Empowerment in Technical Education
09-12-2025
The TESDA Women's Center (TWC) recently concluded a successful benchmarking and study visit to Labtech International Ltd. in Batam, Indonesia and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College West in Singapore as part of its drive to become a leading Polytechnic for women in TVET by 2028 on September 9-12, 2025.
At Labtech, the TWC team explored cutting edge training technologies including Electric Vehicle simulators, HVAC VR systems, and green energy trainers, while gaining insights into gender-inclusive innovations in AR/VR development. A strategic partnership focused on empowering Filipino women through high-tech education was also proposed.
At ITE College West, the team examined best practices in automotive and tourism diploma programs, industry-integrated learning, and student engagement through real-world training. Curriculum design, safety culture, and dual training models offered valuable takeaways.
This benchmarking initiative is a major step forward in shaping inclusive, industry responsive, and future-ready programs particularly in non-traditional trades for women.
From automotive servicing to green technologies, TWC continues its mission to equip women with world-class skills and expand their opportunities in high-growth sectors.
