Justine Mae Sacro's passion for coffee blossomed from a simple interest into a fulfilling career after completing the Barista NC II training program at TESDA Women's Center in 2022.

Prior to the training, Justine worked as an operations assistant, but she had always been captivated by the art of coffee-making. "I was a coffee lover back then and curious about how baristas do their craft," Justine recalls. Driven by her curiosity, she decided to apply for the Barista NC II program to turn her passion into a profession.

At TWC, Justine immersed herself in learning the technical aspects of coffee preparation. "I learned how to use the machine, do manual brewing, and steam milk," she says. Under the expert guidance of her trainer, Ms. Maribel Dumalagam, Justine honed her skills and developed a deep appreciation for the intricacies of specialty coffee.

Upon completing the program, Justine's newfound expertise opened doors for her. "Without my TESDA training, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to prove myself to employers who were looking for baristas with no experience," she explains. Justine's dedication and the credibility of her TESDA certification landed her a job as a Specialty Barista and Supervisor at Higher Ground Specialty Coffee.

In her current role, Justine not only serves exceptional coffee but also oversees the daily operations of the cafe. "I am able to support and help our daily family needs," she shares proudly. Justine's journey serves as an inspiration to anyone passionate about coffee, showcasing how TESDA's free training and support can transform dreams into reality.
