Jelyn U. Galia is a shining example of perseverance and self-belief. As a dedicated housewife, she managed to balance her household responsibilities while pursuing her passion through the Dressmaking NC II program at the TESDA Women's Center (TWC) in 2022.
After completing her training in August 2022, Jelyn took a few months to rest and reflect on her next steps. She initially considered working overseas, but age-related requirements posed a challenge. Still, she did not let this setback deter her spirit.
Then came a phone call that changed everything. Jelyn was offered a position as a seamstress at the Belmont Hotel Manilaâa role that not only matched her skills but also opened doors to new possibilities. With renewed confidence and the skills she gained from TWC, Jelyn embraced this opportunity with purpose and determination.
"What I've learned in life is to never give up. Even though I didn't finish my formal education, I was still able to land a decent and respectable jobâand TWC played a big part in making that happen," she shares proudly.
Jelyn's story is more than just personal achievement. It stands as a powerful reminder that with the right support, a strong belief in one's potential, and unwavering dedication, every woman has the power to overcome life's challenges and shape a brighter, more secure future.
