My TWC Journey
"Challenges will come, but with faith, determination, and hard work, you can build the life you've always dreamed of.
Elaine Jasa, a graduate of the Barista NC II program from the TESDA Women's Center in 2021, turned her passion for coffee into a thriving business. Prior to her training, she worked as a dining staff and barista in a restaurant, where she developed a deeper interest in mastering the craft of coffee-making.
Driven to develop her skills further, Elaine searched for training opportunities and discovered the TESDA Women's Center, which offered a scholarship for the Barista NC II program. Through the training, she enhanced her technical skills in coffee preparation and customer service while building her confidence and professionalism.
After graduating, Elaine worked as an on-call event booth barista for a well-known coffee brand during expos. In 2022, she started a small online food business, which later grew into a home-based cafe in 2023 serving customers in their community. Through dedication and perseverance, she reached a major milestoneâin June 2025, she successfully opened her first physical cafe branch, Kape Figlia, in Batangas City.
Today, Elaine proudly runs her cafe as both owner and barista, serving high-quality coffee while creating opportunities for staff and on-the-job trainees to learn and grow in the coffee industry. Her journey has brought her financial independence, personal fulfillment, and the satisfaction of turning her dream into reality.
Elaine's story shows aspiring entrepreneurs that with passion, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous learning, even small beginnings can grow into meaningful success.
