My TWC Journey

Charis Mendoza-Frianeza's journey is a testament to resilience and empowerment. Before attending the TESDA Women's Center (TWC), she worked as a community-based trainer for an NGO, focusing on out-of-school youth and adults in marginalized communities, including jails and shelters.

She pursued Gas Metal Arc Welding NCII to advance her career and enrolled in the Facilitating E-learning Sessions (FELS) course to enhance her teaching skills. After graduating from TWC, Charis became a certified maritime trainer under MARINA and taught at the Magsaysay Institute of Shipping and Regency Polytechnic College in Koronadal, South Cotabato. With her husband's support, she is now establishing her own construction services and has achieved significant milestones, including her MARINA certification and completing various TESDA trainer requirements.

One of her proudest achievements was receiving the Kabitenyong Bayani Award from the City Government of Dasmariñas, recognizing her dedication. Employment has profoundly impacted her life, instilling a sense of purpose and financial stability that has brought hope and pride to her family. At TWC, she gained valuable skills in technical proficiency, discipline, teamwork, and professionalism. Charis views TWC as a transformative place that empowers women and expresses her gratitude to her trainers for their support.

Reflecting on her life experiences, she shares that challenges can be turned into strengths, encouraging others to embrace their journeys and find beauty in their struggles.
