TWC celebrates International Women's Day
Every year on March 8, we celebrate the International Women's Day to highlight the international initiatives and gains on women's empowerment and gender equality. For this year, the National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women (NCRFW) spearheaded the celebration with the theme “CEDAW ng Bayan: Kabuhayan ng Kababaihan”.
The TWC marks the International Women's Day by organizing a women's day celebration on 14 March with a series of events and activities which was participated by TWC trainees, staff members and some TESDA employees from the Central Office. The taebo session kicked-off the morning festivities followed by a film showing on women's issues entitled “North County” where the story has inspired women to be strong and exercise her women's rights. A seminar and demonstration on Breastfeeding and Breast Massage for Pregnant and Breastfeeding women was also conducted by the Nurturers of the Earth and Children for Breastfeeding, Inc. to impart the importance and advantages of breastfeeding to the total child development. Side by side with these activities was a physical wellness program on reflexology given for free by the Natural Health Foundation of the Philippines to the TESDA employees and trainees.
