TWC bids farewell to Mr. Shozo Matsuura

Last 23 August 2007, the TESDA Women’s Center (TWC) bid adieu to one of its advocates and partners in gender and development, the outgoing JICA Resident Representative Mr. Shozo Matsuura. A farewell party for him was organized by the TWC to express its deepest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude for his long-standing commitment and partnership with TWC in the promotion of gender mainstreaming in the “Tek-Bok” sector. For several years now, the TWC and JICA have collaborated on various programs, activities and projects for the economic empowerment of women, the foremost of which is the Technical Cooperation Project entitled Project GREAT or “Gender Responsive Employability and Training” which was implemented by TWC for a period of three years (16 February 2004-15 February 2007) and funded by JICA to the tune of about P22 million.

One of the highlights of the farewell party was the showcasing of skills and talents of TWC’s trainees and their outputs and the awarding of tokens of appreciation to Mr. Matsuura by the CAC Chairperson Dr. Leticia Ramos-Shahani and Executive Director Cecile B. Gutierrez.
