On March 11, 2026, as part of its National Women's Month 2026 activities, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) held a special film showing, Cine Juana, at the TESDA Central Office Auditorium, bringing together TESDAns and TVET scholars to celebrate empowerment and inclusivity.
The program featured the inspiring film “The Adventures of Kween Jhonabelle”, a coming-of-age story about a young vlogger who uses her creativity and courage to support her family during challenging times. Through humor and heartfelt moments, the film explored themes of resilience, identity, compassion, and perseverance, encouraging viewers to celebrate individuality and courage.
Following the screening, attendees participated in a question-and-answer session with the film's producer and partners from EdukSine, sharing reflections and insights. Discussions highlighted important topics such as gender equality, representation, and inclusivity in media and society, sparking meaningful conversations among TESDAns and scholars.
The Cine Juana activity underscored TESDA's continued commitment to women's empowerment and fostering a culture of creativity, inclusivity, and social responsibility within the technical-vocational education and training (TVET) community.
