Demonstrating TESDA Women Center's dedication to empowering Women in Especially Difficult Circumstances (WEDC), and in coordination with the University of Connecticut (UConn) and Taguig City Local Government, a public education project was co-organized on 4 June 2026 participated by thirteen (13) survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) at the Taguig Lake Shore Activity Center.
Julia Armington, a scholar-researcher from UConn discussed intimate partner violence, economic independence, and financial safety for women and children.
On behalf of Mayor Maria Laarni "Lani" Cayetano, the activity was attended by Councilor Ivie Dizon of the 2nd District and Chairperson on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, who inspired the participants to access various sustained assistance and guidance from different government and non-government organizations.
The VAWC survivors, as one of TESDA's priority clients, were also encouraged to avail the essential TESDA skills and scholarship programs offering a supportive training environment that has potential to provide them with long-term economic opportunities and independence.
